Hi Cheryl, Simon, Well we had a most enjoyable walk today, and the group really appreciated being able to end the day by sitting in comfort over tea and cakes! A very rare treat on our walks! You must have had some heavy rain over the last couple of nights, as the track through the dale was far muddier than on Sunday. One of the group took a white dog with him - and came back with a black one! We eventually shoved the dog into the river just before the car park, to get rid of some of the mud! Not that the dog complained about yet another chance to swim! Sorry we didn't see you this afternoon, but we'll be back! Best wishes, Ron

Would like to thank the excellent mechanic (sorry, we didn't find out your name), who repaired my son Peter's bike, quickly and efficiently! We found ourselves temporarily unable to continue with our ride along the Monsal Trail, when my son's chain became wedged between the bottom bracket and the smallest chainring on the front chainset. Fortunately this happened about 30m from your workshop, and after about 20 minutes of removing the chainset and realigning the chain, we were good to go! We continued with our day as planned, riding all the way to Bakewell and back along the glorious Monsal Trail, and returning to our campsite in Blackwell. The environment was amazing and as soon as we got in the cycle shop, the staff were very helpful with us. I was not able to take my handbag with me in the bike and they were very kind giving me another one specific to ride a bike, without any problem. At the end of our route they booked a taxi for us. Due to we didn´t know that area, we were lost! We recommend everyone their services! Yanis and Erika

Great service: very friendly and informative. The Monsal Trail is brilliant with wonderful views. Long enough to feel as though you have had a decent day of exercise but, as it is pretty much flat, not too exhausting either! We stopped at the cafe which we can also highly recommend and which, as you climb further up the hill to get to it, really gives you a spectacular view of the trail and surrounding scenery. Just had a lovely Day cycling on the Monsal Trail we hired our bikes from Blackwell Mill cycle hire. We were greeted in the morning by staff at the hire shop where we completed paper work and was introduced to our cycles the staff were very nice and were very knowledgeable about the monsal Trail. We set off to Bakewell and although we hadn't been regularly on bikes we found the ride was very pleasurable and made good time into Bakewell . The day was a Monday so we had an added bonus of it being Market Day in Bakewell so it was a buzzing environment .After looking round Bakewell and enjoying a bite to eat we made our way back to Blackwell Mill cycle hire shop. We found the return journey a little more demanding as there is a slight gradient riding this way although this did not stop [...]

Extremely helpful team who explained the trail and where to stop, especially on the return journey. The weather was kind to us and we had a very enjoyable day. The journey back did test our stamina as we had to pedal all the way - no free-wheeling. We enjoyed a restful coffee at the Tuck Shop and as we looked tired we were offered a lift back to the car park! We reluctantly declined the offer, wishing to extend our fantastic day by strolling along the side of the River Wye back to the car. Thanks for a great day out! Anne

When we eventually located Blackwell Mill Cycle Hire we were so pleased we made the effort to find them! The walk from the car park to the cycle hire hut was beautiful. The service of the staff in the cycle hire was great. The Monsal Trial and views were spectacular. We cycled all the way to Bakewell town centre and had a picnic by the river before returning back with a brief stop for ice-cream at Hassop Station. On returning the bikes staff were again very helpful. In all a great day out helped by friendly service and good quality bikes. Simon & Julie Whitehead
