Discover the Monsal Trail
Discover along the way the stepping stones and natural springs, lime-kilns and the old station at Millers Dale built in 1863 where the hustle and bustle of the past are but a distant memory. Spot the cotton mills of Litton and Cressbrook built in the 18th century, here the force of the river Wye was used to power the water wheels of the mills. Stop and look down to see the river Wye waterfall at water Cum-Jolly unseen from this view point for over forty years.

Had a good impression from when I phoned to book bikes and no answer on phone. When a company then takes time to callback to see if you wanted them that tells me they care!
Super helpful proprietor when we picked up bikes and pointed out places worth stopping on the trail which was really helpful. Map provided and really good value a day at £15 per adult bike and £8.50 for a child.
Phone and book and enjoy a great day!!
Great little cycle hire shop, gave us loads of info and tips on the route, even offered to come get us if we got stuck !
A brilliant bike hire service. We were given all the tips on our bike ride to Bakewell and back. Bikes were of excellent quality and the owner is a very helpful genuine guy who is eager to please!!
Perfectly situated at the beginning of the Monsal trail. Great bikes, we had manual and electric in our group. Mum is in her 70’s and found the electric motor really useful, the 17 mile round trip was easily manageable. All our needs were catered for bike-wise, we were even offered gloves to borrow (gets pretty chilly in the old railway tunnels)and a rucksack! Great experience and a really satisfying day.
Had a lovely cycle ride in Derbyshire. Bikes at Blackwell are well maintained and on one of the best trails in Derbyshire. Now used this place three times. Never let down. See you soon I hope.
Great little bike rental shop at the start of the trail. Walked along the Wye River from the car park. Friendly service – provided recommendations where to stop for food on the way. Booked an e-bike the night before. My wife really enjoyed the bike and its “pick-up” after only lightly pedaling – made the ride “effortless”. The trail was busy with a few walkers “blocking” the trail – not following suggestions to keep to the left and allow cyclists to pass. Stopped at the Hassop Cycle Cafe for lunch. Beautiful scenery in late September sunshine!
