We visited the Monsal trail today and the team at Blackwell Mill Cycle Hire helped us out when my bike wheel broke and I was unable to continue my ride. Even though it was close to the end of they day, they fixed my bike up so I could complete my ride. The team were all friendly and went above and beyond to help me out.

Great, friendly service. We hired 3 bikes and a tag along to cycle the Monsal Trail to Bakewell and back. Simon was very helpful with going over the map and making recommendations about the stops. The bike hire is all day and we turned up just after they opened so that we could take our time and enjoy the views - would recommend doing this! We parked at the Wyedale Car Park (£4.75 all day - you can pay by card) and walked along the river to the Cycle Hire shop which took about 15 minutes. Lovely views. This was definitely a brilliant way to see the views and spend some time exploring, would definitely recommend hiring bikes from these guys!

These guys go above and beyond for their customers. Helped us out of a really tricky spot when out bike tyres (our own bikes) were massively punctured during what was a really busy day for them. Really recommend these guys if visiting the trial. A genuine family business putting customers first!

We had a very warm welcome from Simon and Dave the dog. Great bikes and very well-maintained. It's also the best place to start right at one end of the trail and they give you a perfect little map showing all the points of interest (and cafés!) along the way.

We had a great experience with friendly and knowledgeable owners and staff. The map and instructions were invaluable and we were greeted warmly after our long ride with cold drinks and lollies available to buy. I would definitely recommend.

We hired Electric Bikes. What a lovely experience. The lady was so helpful when we called to book. We went from the bike hire hut to Bakewell (about 16 mile round trip). It was such a lovely route following an old railway track. There were old stations turned into cafés, old platforms still there, and numerous brilliant views. We rode through old railway tunnels too. It was the best part of our holiday. I can highly recommend this. Helpful and friendly staff. Park in the pay and display car park (not expensive)10 minute walk to the hire place or in the layby which you walk down very steep steps. Don't miss this if you're in the area!

Blackwell Mill helped me to properly fit a tag along on a kids bike today. They saved the day! No charge, only a really friendly helpful service and a lovely old terrier called Dave. Great looking bikes too, I would definitely hire from these guys in the future. The hire centre is fantastically located just off a wonderful part of the Monsal Trail, with dramatic old railway tunnels to ride through and a high bridge.

Cheryl & Simon were so helpful & kind. The bikes were in excellent condition and were just right for the job in hand. Using their almost new electric bikes on the Monsal Trail has convinced us electric bikes are for us. The cost of hiring was very reasonable too Lovely people and perfect bikes Thanks for such a lovely day with you both and your bikes ???????? 10/10

We hired e bikes for the day, and cycled down to and round Bakewell stopping at Monsal head as Longstone. And got those that enjoy them an adventure lab down the railway. Anyway the e-bikes were fantastic, the cycle hire company very friendly and helpful- worth booking in advance though.
