Great cycle hire co. They couldn’t have made the process easier. 5 Bikes all in good order plus helmets. Cycled Monsal Trail there and back incl tea and Bakewell tart in a cafe in Bakewell . About an hour each way flat easy cycling and lovely scenery. Excellent value for a morning out.

Excellent place to hire bikes to cycle the Monsal trail. Good bikes and map and tips where to stop for a coffee ( Quackers at Thornbridge Hall). We stopped at the Headstone Tunnel on the way back and climbed the short distance up to the viewpoint of the Monsal Viaduct.Great day out.

Turned up without a booking. Being the beginning of the season we thought we’d try our luck and there was plenty of bikes available. We hired a normal bike and an electric bike as I haven’t ridden for a while. The electric bike was fantastic! So much so I am now considering buying one. The trail is great from Buxton to Bakewell, and great fun being able to go fast on the electric bike! The trail was quite busy as it was a nice day I imagine in high summer it’s probably too busy to ride fast. Customer service was spot on from the staff at Blackwell Mill cycle hire. We throughly enjoyed our day and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Had an amazing experience thanks to Blackwell bike hire. Easy to book, great communication and such friendly service when we collected the bikes. Lord of information and a useful map, the bikes are in excellent condition and let us have a stress free day exploring-the trail itself is gorgeous and kind to the legs. Overall highly recommend

From the moment we stepped into the shop, the friendly staff went above and beyond to help us get our bikes ready. They even provided a map of the trail with recommended stops! We visited on their opening day this year, and the customer service was outstanding. This is definitely the place to go for great rental bikes on the Monsal Trail. And don't forget to grab a coffee and a chocolate bar for extra energy!

Parking - Highly recommended at Miller's Dale when venturing out to Chedale ( The Stepping Stones ) The access from Miller's Dale Station into the valley is a much better way round of doing the circular walk The parking at Wye Dale is extremely limited for parking spaces as it's the for customers hiring from Blackwell Mill Cycle Hire and the access from the lay- by is dangerous due to an extremely steep slope If your taking your own bikes to do the trail parking is best had at Hassop Station where there is ample parking and two free fields are allocated for parking throughout the day

Out on my own cycling and had an unexpected flat tyre. I had the good fortune of it happening 200m from the Blackwell cycle hire shop I pushed / carried my bike in and the chap that looked after me was extremely helpful , very kind and repaired my puncture in no time. Fantastic service to a cyclist in need. I would certainly recommend this hire shop if you want quick friendly “ nothing too much trouble service.” Note : this was my own bike not hired from the shop and had no problem getting me back on track “ literally” Thank you so much
