Just hired four bikes today for me and the family. We have hired bikes now on both sides of the Monsal trail and honestly I can say that Blackwell hire is by far the better. The walk down from the car park to the hire shop is wonderful. It must be one of the prettiest 10 minute walks in the area. The service at the hire shop was excellent. The bikes were really great and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this and look forward to returning to explore more of the area. Paul and Sue

We hired bikes last Monday and cycled to Bakewell and back, it was good to cycle from one end of the trail to the other with Bakewell as a destination. The trail is great with lots of fabulous views ,tunnels, interesting places to stop  and the town of Bakewell to explore at the end. We went on market day which added to our experience. Your bike hire centre is wonderful. The chap who hired out the bikes was friendly and extremely helpful and we thought your prices were very reasonable. Many thanks , we had a really good day out. We hired bikes for my husband's 40th birthday. The service was excellent, I had pre-booked our bikes and they were ready waiting for us when we arrived. The bikes were good and the seats even better. The ride to Bakewell and back was very picturesque and great fun. We had a great time and would thoroughly recommend your cycle hire.

My husband, teenage son and I hired cycles last Thursday.  We were greeted by very friendly staff who equipped us with everything we needed for the day.  This included helmets, cycle pump and bicycle lock.  We cycled from Blackwell Mill to the end of the Monsal Trail at Bakewell.  We stopped off on route at Hassop Station to look around the gift and book shop.  The food looked delicious, but  we had brought along a packed lunch.  The route has some fantastic scenery and with the added bonus of going through the tunnels.  When we returned our cycles we were given a really friendly reception.  It was a fantastic day, definitely one of the highlights of our holiday.  We would definitely recommend hiring cycles from Blackwell Mill. Thanks for a great day out. The Monsal Trail lived up to all expectations - beautiful scenery along the route and a fantastic service from all at Blackwell Mill Cycle Hire. We highly recommend this as a day out for anyone visiting the Peak District - it was one of the highlights of our week. Aside from the amazing views and the pleasure of travelling such a picturesque route in our own time, the day was topped by your friendly and helpful attitude. You obviously care greatly about making sure your customers enjoy their day and we really appreciated the help you gave us finding a camp site for the night, despite being rushed off your feet on a very busy day. A great family day out - fantastic trail with lovely scenery, impressive tunnels and viaducts.  The guys at Blackwell Mill were very friendly and welcoming.  The bikes worked well and were good value. We cycled from Blackwell Mill to the end of the trail and back, with a lovely lunch stop at Hassop Station.  Our toddler rode in a bike seat for a first time (usually in a trailer) and loved the experience! Hi Cheryl, Simon & Dave the dog, wanted to say how much we enjoyed today’s biking experience. The electric bikes were fantastic and so good for when we needed a bit of help up a hill, getting going again after having to slow down and at the end of the day’s cycling when our legs were getting tired. Still feel like we’ve had a good cycle though & so don’t have one one single pang of guilt! Not being able to negotiate hills has basically meant I (Yolande) haven’t cycled in years but now I’m hooked again & keen to do more. Thanks again for your friendly help & advice. Just to say what a great time we had cycling the Monsal Trail. The bikes were comfortable and had very good gears and the route was easy and most suitable for all age ranges. We had a nice lunch in Bakewell before we cycled back. All in all a very enjoyable day out.
