Can't recommend this more, we had a superb day and enjoyed the unique experience, the countryside is fabulous and the trail with its tunnels, viaducts and views is quite something. The staff were lovely and so helpful and, if you haven't tried them, electric bikes are great fun.

Just back from day on monsal trail. We received excellent service when hiring bikes here - nothing was too much trouble and bikes were great with comfy gel saddles. We will be back very soon for another days cycling I hope.

Myself, my husband and 3 year old daughter had a great time cycling from Blackwell mill to Hassop cafe. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We hired two bikes and a Weehoo for our daughter. She absolutely loved it! She had her own peddles so felt like she was helping whilst remaining safe and comfortable strapped into the comfy seat! It also had a storage net on the back and drinks holders so we could bring back our shopping and my daughter could have a drink enroute! Unfortunately we had a puncture but within 15mins we had a replacement! Couldn't fault the service. Will definitely come back when we return to the peaks! Thank you!

Hi, about time I left a review of your business: Visited Blackwell Cycle Hire almost on the first day the tunnels on the Monsal Trail were re-opened back in 2011 and have been back regular as clockwork twice a year since. Yes, the stunning trail is main draw, but what a difference Blackwell Cycle Hire makes. Excellent cycles, (well maintained), very good prices and outstanding customer service – real people who care about the service that they offer, taking time to ensure you are comfortable with your cycle and heading in the right direction!. There is also the added advantage of starting at one end of the line in that you feel you have made the full journey there and back to Bakewell and not missed any of the marvellous scenery. You must try Blaxkwell Mill cycle hire for a great day out on the Monsal Trail! We rented two electric bikes for our leisurely 3 1/2 hour ride to Hassop and back and as well as being great fun and much easier than a regular cycle, you do still have to pedal so we got some exercise too! The scenery was stunning, even on a drizzly day, and all the tunnels were well lit. It was nice to see so many people enjoying the Monsal Trail and with the aid of the electric bikes we made the 15 mile round trip easily even though we are not regular cyclists. The staff at the bike hire were knowledgable, friendly and helpful and we will definitely do this again next time we are in Derbyshire.

I absolutely loved every minute when on the hired bikes. A unique way to experience the scenery and atmosphere of the monsal trail. staff made me my brother and my dad feel right at home. this definitely made holiday memories for years to come. cant wait to come back and visit peak district on two wheels and especially cant wait to see the legendary Dave the dog again!

We had great time cycling the Monsal trail in the week before Easter. We hired bikes from Peak Blackwell cycle hire. The guys there were helpful and smiley, and fitted us out in double quick time with what we needed. To get there, you need to park in the layby opposite the quarry, and then walk along the river Wye to the hire cabin - about a ten minute stroll. This was no problem - the dale is beautiful and the walk delightful, and the cabin is perfectly situated by the start of the trail. The trail is essentially on a downward incline all the way to the cafe at Hassop (great cafe and bookshop, but you cannot picnic there!), but the slope was only mild so we did not struggle with the return leg (and neither did my son or daughter - aged 6 and 9, respectively). I would just like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to yourself Simon and the staff that help you make the most wonderful atmosphere to anyone lucky enough to visit your establishment. Both me and Lorraine have been to your bike hire centre on most weeks for the last couple of months and spent the best quality time together in years exploring the wonders of the Monsal Trail. A big bonus was doing the full trail from the Blackwell Mill bike centre to Bakewell and back we have both managed to loose over a stone in weight each !!!!!!
