Good selection of bikes including electric. Blackwell Mill is about a 10 minute walk from Wyedale car park but then just a short walk up to the cycle trail. Plenty of places to stop on the trail for drinks/toilet.

The people at the cycle hire place are great, really helpful,and the bikes are really good. The monsal trail is a great day out and the cycling is pretty easy, even for people who don't cycle a lot. The tunnels are well lit and tarmacked The bike hire is a bit of a walk from the parking place, we doubted we were on the right track, the walk is really pleasant along the river.

The owner and her staff were so helpful and friendly, the bikes were ready to go and they provided clear advice. We were able to call throughout day for tips and help. We were unfortunately late getting back due one of our party struggling on the way back but again the staff waited and were helpful. Overall we had a brilliant active day out riding through beautiful scenery! Great activity to do! The Monsal Trail was a lovely track to ride, long may it be there for all to enjoy!

My first time on a bike for over 10 years..great fun and tiring day out (in a really good way), with my wife and daughter (22yrs). Places to stop and eat along the way..and I'm sure I'll sleep like a log tonight, I did feel a bit like John Wayne after getting of the bike though!! . Great staff at the hire shop..and was so good meet Dave.

What fun! What scenery! What tunnels! You could not ask for more! Bikes hired from Blackwell Mill on the Monsal Trail. An electric one for me and a standard bike for him! We had a most enjoyable day cycling 8 miles to Bakewell,and back. The path was great with beautiful scenery. The cycle hire staff were ready with our appropriately sized bikes on arrival. We had a puncture and they attended to us Quickly. On returning some of our party were inexperienced cyclists and were a little late back to the hire centre. The owner couldn’t of been more helpful. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, good quality bikes and a fantastic cycle trail. The walk from the car park takes around 10-15 which means it makes sense to buy all day parking if cycling the whole trail. AdamH256

Lovely walk along the river from the car park. Super friendly owners, set the bikes up ready for when we arrived so we were all set to go. Also hired a blast trailer for our three year old and he absolutely loved it. Bikes well maintained and locks, map and helmets provided. Great day had by all Thanks BABA2525

After hiring bikes at grizedale at £25 per bike for half a day during Easter, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the prices at Blackwell Mill and it was for a whole day! The guys in the hut were great and quick getting us ready to go. The bikes were absolutely fine, they had gel seats, a bike pump and also bike locks. We will return! 120rachela
