We headed down at midday to hire 2 bikes, which cost 17 pounds each for the day! The service was excellent, and locks were provided free of charge. The man was really helpful and gave us a useful map plus other tips. It took us about 1 hour to cycle the 9.5 miles to bakewell where we locked our bikes up and had some coffee, bakewell tart and then a drink at a pub. We then cycled back, which was a bit harder due to a slight incline and had our bikes back for 5pm. Beautiful cycle route and thoroughly enjoyed! I would highly recommend for a day out.

Good range of bikes (try an electric bike - wow!). Helpful guy running it and a great trail right next to it. A great day out - long or short. Really good value.

Got told about Blackwell mill cycle hire from a friend. Would recommend them. Quality bike for the price. Me and my wife enjoyed the bike ride. Will definitely use them again.

Great activity, great place at a good price. Everyone we knew had previously started the Monsal trail at Bakewell and collected bikes from that side however we really enjoyed starting at Blackwell, these guys were cheaper and very friendly. Made for a proper day out! Also such a shame to hear about the government's plans to destroy such activities for HS2 - SAVE THE TRAIL!!

We had hired bikes elsewhere that were just awful. Having flat tires and non working brakes we popped into Blackwell Mill Cycle Hire on the off chance of getting air in our tyres. They were incredibly helpful, pumped up the tires and resolved the brakes issues. The quality of the bikes they had were far superior to the ones we had and we so wished we’d come here in the first place! Would highly recommend!

Stopped here after walking the Monsal Trail. As they dont do bike hire for a single journey (There is another independent bike shop at Hassop station.) they offered to call us a taxi back to Hassop station. This saved us the hassle of riding back then driving back to the shop to drop the bikes back. We had a half hour wait for the taxi but we grabbed a coffee and ice cream at the shop. They also do pot noodles, sausage rolls etc etc. There are picnic benches at the shop to rest and have a bite to eat. The taxi fare was £30 which worked out cheaper that hiring two bikes.

I booked the electric bikes which were absolutely beyond my expectations. So easy to ride - if you're not fit enough to cycle 17 miles these are the answer. Jamie was very helpful and it was such a great experience. The Trail is very well maintained and the views you get are fantastic. If you're looking for a convenient bed and breakfast I can recommend 9 Green Lane, Buxton. The car park for the cycle hire (Wydale Car Park) is easy to find once you know where it is. I would recommend doing a recy the day before so you know where you're going. The car park is payment by card only. My partner and I visited Blackwell Mill to hire bikes ready to cycle the Monsal Trail. The whole team were really organised and prior to our visit I had telephoned to book our bikes and the staff had them ready and waiting for us. I had the pleasure of trying out a fancy electric bike and since that - I am converted 😍! The hire prices are really reasonable and I love the fact you get the whole day as I don't like the thought of having to rush back! I would definitely return here again and would recommend to all for a fantastic, different day out!

Easy to find well signposted,we hired our bikes on a Spur of the moment so glad we did had amazing time ,lovely people,great experience and wonderful information to make our brilliant day would recommend
