We booked the bikes for a family day out the night before and the lady was so helpful. The bikes were perfect and in great working order. We had 2 adult bikes one with a tag along and one with a wee hoo bike seat. Our children had the best day. The guy at the bike place was so accommodating and knowledgeable and made sure the bikes were all at the right height for us. He made sure we were set for a stress free day. We would definitely use again and highly recommend anyone else wanting a day out with the children.

Hired 2 bikes from Blackwell Mill cycle hire this morning to cycle the wonderful Monsal Trail. Excellent customer service and a lovely young man who took the time to make sure we had the right bikes and that we were happy with them. The bikes were in excellent condition and obviously well serviced and looked after. They are sited right at the beginning of the trail which is a bonus. Would highly recommend and would have no hesitation in using them again if we return.

We rented the Electric cycles, and they were very good indeed especially as the trip back from Bakewell is mostly up hill the electric "push" really helped, staff were great and friendly, would definitely recommend.

Went with my partner and we had a lovely time, staff were friendly and helpful and the actual route was really good with some amazing views along the way. Will definitely go again.

Our bike ride along the Monsal Trail to Hassop and back was a firm highlight of a family weekend away! Friendly and efficient service from the men at the hire shop, everything straightforward just a driving license left as a deposit. Would advise anyone just to be wary of dogs not on leads inside the long tunnels. Visibility poor and path becomes narrower. Even well behaved dogs may be unpredictable. Unfortunately my relative collided with one that moved into our path....however both dog and Auntie not badly injured!!!

As a lady who doesn't really ride a bike I was quite apprehensive about doing the monsal trail. I read the reviews and made sure me and my fiancé were at the bike hire for when they opened at 9.30 as it said they can get pretty busy. The 2 guys who were there were welcoming and knowledgeable on the bikes bit also where to go. We both decided to get an electric bike and well I had a fantastic day! The bikes were brilliant, you had to pedal slightly now and again but they really took the pressure off. We completed the monsal trail from start to finish, went for a Bakewell tart and a coffee and put a lock on the bridge in Bakewell.100% I would do it again and hire from this place. Fantastic!

We were 10 minutes late back but it was no problem they were just interested if we had a good day. They bikes were fab and we had a choice. No extra charge for the helmet, lock and map provided which he talked us through. Lovely route into bakewell with interesting routes and pubs and cafes. All in all a great day for 20 quid each and if you can't cycle 20 miles you can get an electric bike for £35.

Great service from the team, really helpful briefing and good quality bikes. Great cycle route, really safe and wonderful views. We didn’t stop along the route as we had t allowed enough time but did manage a bit of time in Bakewell which was a stunning little town (get to the sweet shop!) . The actual cycling takes about 2 hours 30 to get there and back so if you want to walk up to Monsal Head or stop in Bakewell etc, make sure you allow enough time. Only other thing to be aware of is that the cycle hire is a 15 min walk (lovely walk!) from the car park so dont panic when you don’t see the hut immediately! All in all, really lovely way to spend an afternoon.
