Absolutely loved this! We called ahead, as we were a bit worried it might be busy on a Sunday, and the helpful member of staff took our details and said they would have our bikes ready for us. When we arrived, everything was sorted out very quickly, and we were on our way! We set off about 11:00 a.m., with a map and very helpful tips from the staff, and we thought we would definitely be dropping the bikes way before the deadline of 4:30 pm. Definitely recommend. Bikes were all good, and staff were helpful. Cycle hire is at the start of the trail, so you get the full length of the Monsal Trail. Stopped off for lunch at Bakewell; it took about 90 minutes each way with some stops.

Great service, very friendly, had our bikes ready before we arrived, helped with height adjustments, and gave is all the information we needed for the trail. Must use again.

We hired electric bikes from Blackwell mills cycle hire to ride the Monsal Trail. It was excellent. First time on an electric bike and what a game changer!! We sailed down and up the track with minimal effort and saw all the beautiful scenery, tunnels and viaduct. We had lunch in Bakewell and pedalled back again with minimal effort and maximum enjoyment. The bikes were lovely. The trail is well worth seeing and the people at the cycle hire shop were lovely. The bikes were adjusted for us individually and the electric controls explained to us too. I would 100% recommend this hire company and their lovely bikes. It was the highlight of our stay.

I arrived at this venue having walked with my dog from Bakewell. The outside area is tidy and the inside is of a high standard. The surrounding views are also idyllic making it the perfect stop to rest at the end of the trail or to fuel up on their high standard and well priced food and drink before embarking on the 8.5 mile walk. As I am not from the area, I asked the owner Cheryl for directions to the bus stop. Cheryl went above and beyond to provide directions including supplying a map and then further assistance when she realised I'd miss the bus had I walked with my dog. BEST BICYCLE RENTAL for the Monsal Trail!! If you rent bikes in the town of Buxton, you have to travel 3 miles to the trailhead on a busy vehicle-heavy road (the A6). This one is RIGHT at the Monsal trailhead! We wish we would have known about this in advance of our adventure. We only stopped in here for Band-Aids and drinks after I wiped out on the main road. If we had rented from here, we would have avoided the dangerous road (and wipe-out) altogether. This place offers both regular and electric bikes, and the staff is incredibly kind and caring. They offered us their first aid kit and a map with details on how to make the most of our adventure. The gorgeous views on the Monsal trail were the highlight of our visit to the Peak District National Park.

We found the cycle centre on the recommendation of the caravan site we were staying at. Super friendly and helpful staff and excellent quality of bikes available. We hired 2 adult and 1 child’s bike with helmet, came with locks to secure so you could stop along the route. Had them for the full day and had a great day. Would highly recommend.

Two 73yo Aussies, moderately fit recreational walkers but not bike riders for 55 years, went the full distance and return, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Good staff, good bikes, a good map provided (it’s impossible to get lost, but the map is helpful to let you know where you are along the trail), and spectacular scenery. Thoroughly recommended.

We visited here as it was our half way point for us cycling the Monsel Trail, my sons pedal had come off his bike and Simon was so helpful and managed to fix the pedal back on, while he was doing that we brought some snacks and drinks and were served by the bubbly Cheryl. They also offer bike hire, adults bikes (£25) kids bikes (£15) electric bikes (£35) they also offer tag-a-longs, trailers & baby seats.
