My husband, teenage son and I hired cycles last Thursday.  We were greeted by very friendly staff who equipped us with everything we needed for the day.  This included helmets, cycle pump and bicycle lock.  We cycled from Blackwell Mill to the end of the Monsal Trail at Bakewell.  We stopped off on route at Hassop Station to look around the gift and book shop.  The food looked delicious, but  we had brought along a packed lunch.  The route has some fantastic scenery and with the added bonus of going through the tunnels.  When we returned our cycles we were given a really friendly reception.  It was a fantastic day, definitely one of the highlights of our holiday.  We would definitely recommend hiring cycles from Blackwell Mill.
