My daughter and I hired bikes last Friday and had a great time exploring the Monsal Trail. The bike I had was one of the new electric assisted ones which I would recommend to anyone who enjoys cycling without the usual strains. A good way to see a spectacular part of the Peak District. Polite and friendly staff who were very happy to help.

Went to cycle the Monsal Trail with my wife on August 8th. We rented bikes at Blackwell Cycles. Fantastic service, friendly staff, good advice received. I would definitely recommend them and will use them again in future. A job well done, thanks.

We had a great day out! Smooth and sheltered from sun, wind and rain, this cycle trail goes through amazing scenery. We went all the way to Bakewell and back without too much strain. Bikes were comfortable (fab saddles) and well maintained. Staff are totally committed to you having an enjoyable experience. Highly recommended to couples like us, families and they even have the trailers for your dog!

Not been on a bike for twenty years but now we are sixty it's 100 things to do before you die! I have been disabled for a lot of years with problems with my left leg and not a lot of strength in it. I worried about how I would cope. The owners are lovely people who after a chat introduced me to one of the new electric bikes they had just bought, you can either pedal and assist or just sit back turn the accelerator and away you go. My wife had a pedal and assist electric bike. The owner took them up the ramp for us and away we went. The scenery was awesome the bikes were super efficient and the day was perfect. We visited the Monsal Trail today and hired bikes from here. We had a great day, the trail and surrounding areas are lovely and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The bikes impressed us as they repair their own punctures! Would definitely recommend!

This must be one of the best days you could have to see the most lovely parts of the area. The cycle Hire staff are smashing and the bikes are the best value to do the Monsal Trail. Highly recommended.

We visited today with our 3 kids, ages 14, 10 & 6 years, it was excellent! We had a tag-a-long for our 6 year old which was great as it meant we could ride further and she could pedal as much/little as she wished! The walk to the hire shop is a beautiful start to the trail experience it's so pretty, the staff are lovely, so enthusiastic, helpful & friendly, the bikes are brilliant! The Monsal Trail is a fantastic day out, scenery, tunnels, cafés with great food and Blackwell Mill for the bikes! Thank you for an excellent fun experience!
