Great experience hiring bikes from Blackwell Mill and cycling the Monsal Trail. Bikes were great and staff super-friendly. Quite a long walk to/from the car-park which makes you wonder if you are going in the right direction. Would highly recommend this as a day out. richardmL2004QA

This is a must for anyone visiting Buxton! From the moment your arrive the service you receive is amazing, the staff go above and beyond to help you (the owner even lent me his bike). I have been twice now and will be going back for a 3rd time very soon. The Monsal Trail is a great ride with stunning views, I highly recommend it if your in the area. jwp1980

What better way to get fit or improve your health than hiring a Bicycle from BLACKWELL MILL CYCLE HIRE. Really lovely people. You can get a brew and a snack whilst being fitted for a bike, which incidentally is the best value on The Monsal Trail. Did I mention the most dramatic scenery is at the Blackwell Mill end of the trail. You get on the bike and immediately, pow!! Don't take my word for it! What are you waiting for! Go and do this! I parked at the little Wye Dale carpark, £3.50 for up to 4 hrs or £4.50 for all day. FYI machine only seems to accept card payments. Having brought my daughter here last yr I assumed it was a fairly safe bet that I didn’t need to pre book a bike as it was a week day & out of school hols (my assumption was correct). Myself and seven friends hired 4 electric and 4 mountain bikes yesterday from Blackwell Mill Cycle hire and cycled 17 miles to Bakewell and back in glorious sunshine along safe and wide tracks. We went through about 5 tunnels which made the bikes fly along the tarmac and were chilly inside for a cool down. The staff were fantastic especially Cheryl who talked us through everything about the bikes after getting the right ones to suit all heights and abilities and also the map advising us of what to do along the way and where to stop. The electric bikes were brilliant as myself and the others could of not gone on the adventure with such enjoyment without one as we were able to keep up with the faster cyclist and wizz up the slight incline back. Used these guys bikes after not being on a bike that moves for ages. They really are a friendly helpful gang could do enough for us. Bikes were top notch with good gears suspensions brakes and the essential gel seats. Good value for a whole day rental too. Would use again. STEVE w
