A wonderful cycle hire shop gaving us a welcoming friendly, service. The bikes were good value for money and well maintained. Basically, we picked the bikes up at 10 in the morning and we had them most of the day. We were provided with a simple map and given recommendations on interestings stopping points. We were not disappointed. The views were amazing cycling to Bakewell and back. Highly recommended.

We would highly recommend Blackwell Mill cycle hire. We found the cost of hiring cycles ( £22 each for the day) brilliant and the customer service was top notch. Very friendly and helpful in terms of what is available to do and see on the trail but also mentioned other events in the area that we might enjoy.
My husband and I had a great time riding the Monsal Trail, thanks to the very helpful staff at Blackwell Mill Cycle Hire, who were super-efficient, friendly and enthusiastic. The hire bikes we had were in excellent condition and we had clear explanations on how to adjust the fit. We were given an easy-to-follow map of the trail, advice on the presence of lots of tunnels, and where to find coffees. Thanks for recommending the coffee stop at Quackers! And the refreshments at the end of the ride were just what we needed, very reasonably priced.
What an absolutely lovely day hiring bikes from Blackwell Mill to do the Monsal Trail!! Amazing scenic cycle trail not difficult we did the whole trail there & back 17 miles no problem. Haven’t been on a bike in 10 years!! Stopped off at Millers Dale Station & Hassop Station for light refreshments & Lunch at Thornbridge . All 10/10 ! Thoroughly enjoyable day !!! Big thank u to the guys at Blackwell Mill all so friendly informative & went out of your way to help us from welcoming us on arrival & wishing us fair well! Brilliant service !! Very Friendly and Helpful. Hired Electric Bike , easy to use. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Went at our own pace on a beautiful track.
What an excellent way to spend the day! We were a large group of 25 enjoying a work trip in Buxton. Cheryl and Simon were incredibly helpful and friendly throughout the booking and hire - accommodating so many of us easily and ensuring we had a brilliant time. The bikes were great - in excellent condition and set up for each rider in advance. They made sure we were all happy with our set-up and gave us tips for places to stop along the trail. We parked at Wye Dale Car Park (£4.75 for all day, less for shorter stays) and enjoyed a beautiful stroll next to the river to the hire hut - an unexpected bonus of beauty and tranquillity. The scenery along the trail is spectacular, and there are plenty of opportunities to stop for drinks/food/toilets on the way to and from Bakewell. I would definitely recommend hiring [...]
Really helpful staff. Easy to find. Great selection of bikes. Very pretty setting. Maps available too and staff happy to give advice, directions and local knowledge. Would recommend.
So helpful what a star , had a puncture on my own bike 17 miles away from home and couldn’t get the back wheel off ( turns out I was using the Alan key on the wrong side ) but the gent at Blackwell cycle hire was a star ,got the wheel off and fixed for me and wouldn’t accept any money , but also saved me a very long walk home
Been coming to this bike renting shed for just over 10 years always had great service and experience and is always a good day out prices are reasonable
