Myself and seven friends hired 4 electric and 4 mountain bikes yesterday from Blackwell Mill Cycle hire and cycled 17 miles to Bakewell and back in glorious sunshine along safe and wide tracks. We went through about 5 tunnels which made the bikes fly along the tarmac and were chilly inside for a cool down. The staff were fantastic especially Cheryl who talked us through everything about the bikes after getting the right ones to suit all heights and abilities and also the map advising us of what to do along the way and where to stop. The electric bikes were brilliant as myself and the others could of not gone on the adventure with such enjoyment without one as we were able to keep up with the faster cyclist and wizz up the slight incline back. After hav8ng lunch by the river in Bakewell and exploring the town we headed back stopping for an ice cream on the way. We were greeted back with big smiles from Cheryl who looked so pleased we had a good day. The location is perfect set in the woods with parking at beginning of the Monsal Trail. I also thought the price was very reasonable for the bike hire with no deposit needed. 8 really did go mad in Bakewell and loved it…….
