MONSAL TRAIL - BLACKWELL MILL CYCLE HIRE
LOWEST CYCLE HIRE PRICES ON THE MONSAL TRAIL situated at the beginning of the Magnificent Monsal Trail, in the Peak District National Park.
The centre is approached by entering the Wye-Dale car park on the A6 (opposite the Topley Pike Quarry entrance), 3 miles south of Buxton towards Bakewell. The Monsal trail is a disused railway line closed in 1968 & recently converted in 2010-2011 into a new traffic free cycle track, allowing people to cycle from Blackwell Mill, Nr.Buxton to Bakewell. The eight & half mile trail follows the river Wye, & takes you through several newly opened lit tunnels, between steep gorges, surrounding limestone hills & across the spectacular Monsal Dale viaduct making this an exceptional cycling experience.

Spot thecotton mills of Litton & Cressbrook built in the 18th century, here the force of the river Wye was used to power the waterwheels of the mills. Stop & look down to see the river Wye waterfall at water Cum-Jolly unseen from this view point for over forty years. Cycle on to Hassop Station, where you can enjoy a welcome break at the book store & restaurant. Then cycling on to the famous Market town of Bakewell where you will find designated bike racks to allow you to park your bike & browse. On your return rest & relax before going home at Blackwell Mills very own Lazy Days Tuck shop where you can indulge yourself with refreshments of Coffee, cake & confectioneries. |
Lazy Days Tuck Shop has been a family run business, run from the garden premises of No.8 Blackwell Mill Cottages, serving a welcome break to many a grateful walker whilst ambling through the great outdoors of the Peak Dales. 
Camp over at the nearby Beech Croft Camp-site, with car free access to the cycle centre approached on foot by walking the bridleway route, taking in the breathtaking countryside along the way.
